analysis of neurodegenerative-related gene disease, such as Alzheimer.
<Research topics>

(1)Research on SNPs and development of diagnostic methods.

(2)Research on intrinsic factors involved in selective neuronal cell death.

(3)Research on drug discovery.


<Research topics and method>

(1)We plan to do functional analysis of the candidates of Alzheimerfs disease-related SNPs and genes that have been identified our previous project. We aim to determine their role in pathodogenesis, and to develop novel diagnostic methods for the disease.

(2)We plan to elucidate molecular mechanism for selective neuronal cell death in neurodegenerative disorders. We are going to do genomic, proteomic and transcriptomic analysis of single neuron at specified brain area, and to determine affected gene/protein network followed by the identification of intrinsic factors regulating cell death in the selective regions.

(3)We aim to develop medicines that are effective for memory disturbance. We first use model animals to select candidates for the medicine.
