こころの分子基盤
  from genes to mindの観点に基づいた研究がUCH-L1発現の無いgadマウス、ジストロフィンを欠損するmdxマウス、ボンベシン受容体ノックアウトマウス、ニューロテンシン受容体ノックアウトマウス、ならびにAMPA型グルタミン酸受容体特異的な新規リガンド、PEPAなど豊富な材料を用いて進行しています。行動科学的・動物心理学的解析、分子生物学的解析、パッチクランプなど神経生理学的解析が展開され、新規記憶形成やストレス反応性、情動における神経ペプチドや細胞骨格蛋白などの重要性が示されています。最近の成果としてPEPAが恐怖記憶の消去学習に関して促進作用を有すること見出しました.また、母子間バイオコミュニケーションという概念を提唱し母体由来生理活性物質による胎児・乳児脳の発達制御に関する研究も進行中です。
