
The goal of our research is to identify the mechanisms that regulate the maturation neural circuits
in control of cognitive and social behavior relevant psychiatric disorders using rat and marmoset models.
【Japan's First "Night Science" Workshop and Joint Meeting with the Department of Mental Disorder Research 7】
On July 9, 2026, Japan's first "Night Science" workshop was held at NCNP. Participants shared research ideas through open dialogue and explored new possibilities for collaboration. A joint meeting with the Department of Mental Disorder Research 7 was also held, bringing together researchers from NCNP and universities in Japan and abroad to discuss the integration of computational and experimental approaches.

At NEURO2026, the 49th Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society, held in Kobe from July 30 to August 2, 2026, Koki Mimura, Kohei Yoshitake, and Hiroyuki Koike of our department, together with visiting researcher Shoko Yuki, presented their research findings.

The 40th Systems Neuroscience Seminar was held with Prof. Yutaka Komura (Kyoto University) as an invited speaker.

We welcomed Ms. Qing Li and Ms. Yiying Fu to the Department of Mental Disorder Research III as of June 1, 2026.

Shoko Yuki was appointed Assistant Professor at the Institute of Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba, effective April 1, 2026. She also serves as a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Disease Research III.
