National Institute of Neuroscience continues to innovate at the cutting edge of medical research

National Institute of Neuroscience (NIN) is a one of the main research institutes inside the National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry (NCNP) and consists of 14 research departments and 3 administrative offices. NIN aims to elucidate the pathogenesis of psychiatric diseases, neurological diseases, muscle diseases and developmental disorders, and cooperates with most NCNP institutions (e.g. NCNP Hospital, National Institute of Mental Health) to achieve the mission of NCNP.

The strength of NIN lies in the fact that scientists here carry out research that is directly related to the promotion of human health. NIN conducts not only basic research on brain science but also translational and clinical research. NIN offers excellent research conditions and facilities, and welcomes researchers with very diverse academic backgrounds (e.g. Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Science). This diversity is invaluable to NIN since researchers here lead the front line of scientific technology and always apply the newest methods available to advance their research projects. It is the interdisciplinary nature of NIN that produces cutting-edge results for the promotion of worldwide health.

NIN provides great research opportunities for students and young researchers. NIN offers visiting researcher programs and welcomes talented postdoctoral researchers from around the world. NIN is actively involved in cooperation programs with various graduate schools and accepts graduate students who wish to conduct their graduation research at NIN.
